"Buddhism
& Depression"
by Lee Wolfson, Ph D
“Nevertheless, even though you chant and believe in
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, if you think the Law is outside yourself, you are
embracing not the mystic Law, but an inferior teaching…. Attaining
Buddhahood in this lifetime is then impossible. Therefore, when you
chant myoho and recite
renge, you must summon up deep faith that Myoho-rengyo [the
Mystic Law] is your life itself." -Nichiren MORE.

her critically acclaimed new book about an African-American Buddhist
girl facing struggles at home, school, and on the street.
From the Interview: "The
most difficult part
has been to not give in to feeling defeated...coming to a point where I

A
Buddhist Dialogue with Science
By Timothy
Harada

Unlike some religions, Buddhism
and science are not at odds with one another.
Instead, Buddhism and science compliment one another.
The goals of science and the goals of Buddhism are in some
respects similar and in other ways opposite, but complimentary.
With an understanding of Buddhism, it is possible to gain a
greater appreciation for science. The
reverse is also true; with an understanding of science, one can gain a
greater appreciation for Buddhism.
Though neither science nor Buddhism at this point in time offers
proof of the other’s validity, they both allow a dialogue that is not
only interesting, but may prove to be fruitful to both science and
Buddhism in the future. MORE

Why
the Truth About the Dai Gohonzon Matters
by Hope Evers
"For me
learning that most likely Nichiren did not inscribe this unique object
has been eye-opening to say the least...The
critical importance of knowing the truth about the Dai Gohonzon lies in
the fact that Nichiren Shoshu uses this singular object as its primary
instrument of control."
